Namakaranam, barasala and the cradle ceremony

Families celebrate the naming of a child in different ways: a namakaranam on a chosen day, a cradle ceremony (barasala or uyyala in Telugu homes, thottil in Tamil homes) where the child is placed in the cradle and the name is spoken. Tell us what your family calls it and we will use your family's word on the invitation.

The baby's name, spelt right

The name is the most important line on the card. We set it from your message, show it back to you for confirmation, and check it again before the final film. In Telugu, Tamil and Hindi we write it in the correct script, and add a transliteration as well if you prefer.

Whether the name is a surprise

Some families reveal the name only at the ceremony. Tell us if the invitation should not include the name yet, and we will design a version that invites guests without revealing it.

Before you order

What we need from you

  • The baby's name (or tell us if it is a surprise) and the parents' names
  • Date, muhurtham time and venue
  • What your family calls the ceremony
  • Language and music preference

How it works

  1. Message us on WhatsApp

Tell us the occasion, the date and the names. Tap the button on this page and your message is pre-filled.

  2. See your free name preview

Within minutes (working hours) our studio sends a 10-second teaser with your own names on it, so you can see the feel before you pay.

  3. Confirm and share the details

Pay by UPI or card. A short form collects names, dates, venues and the languages you want. We never guess a spelling.

  4. Receive and share

You get the finished film, a matching still card for WhatsApp and, with websites, your personal links. Two revisions are included.
